Bits and bobs

Here’s a few sites – mainly related to the world of film – that you may find interesting, useful, informative and inspiring. Enjoy!

  • Roger Ebert.com
Widely regarded by most film critics as the godfather of film journalism. The first critic to receive a Pulitzer prize for his work too. His website is packed full of interesting stuff.
  • IMDb
The faithful internet movie database. A great source to hunt down the full filmography of actors and directors whose work you admire – so you can call yourself a proper fan.
  • Flick Chart
Rate and rank your favourite films against each other to build up your own top lists by genre. The results may surprise you.
  • Empire magazine
The place to go if you want to find out all there is to know about past, present and future films. Simple as that. Oh, they also do a really good podcast.
  • Daily Script
Resource of scripts and screenplays for many of your favourite films. All free to read, for those movie geeks – such as myself – that enjoy such things.
  • Raindance Film Festival
Described as being ‘at the heart of indie filmmaking since 1992’, which is an apt description. They run film courses, post interesting articles, all sorts – check them out.
